We have a unique combination of in house heat treatment facilities, expertise in metallurgy and extensive knowledge of Ground Engaging Tool design and application requirements. This enables us to produce Ground Engaging Tools with the optimum combination of strength, flexibility and wear resistance for particular applications and environments.

 

Top quality steel

It all starts with quality raw materials. We source ultra clean steel from reputable Western European steel mills and work with them to develop an alloy steel chemistry which is tightly controlled during the production process.

 

World class heat treatment facilities

In house heat treatment facilities enable us to refine and control all the  variables in the process  and the steel microstructure. All our furnaces comply with the American Petroleum Institute API 6A standard. This means we can reliably achieve the desired abrasion and impact resistance required.

 

Dedicated Processing

We drill and cut the material before heat treating to achieve a fully through hardened micro structure throughout the thickness of the product. This provides a distinct advantage over pre-hardened wear plate which is subsequently processed. Induced heat from gas cutting the wear plate reduces hardness close to the cutting edge. This creates ‘soft spots’ and can reduce the service life of the component.
